Teachers Talk: Executive Function for All Students

Are executive function strategies only for students in special education? Or do they benefit all students?

It shouldn’t surprise you that, here at SMARTS, we are firm believers in the transformative power of executive function strategies for ALL students. All students need strategies to take on challenges in school and in life. All students need to develop the metacognitive awareness to understand their areas of strength and challenge and to apply this knowledge to the strategies they use.

But don’t take our word for it! In this video Johnny Williams, Assistant Director of Student and Family Services at the Conservatory Lab School in Dorchester, MA, makes a powerful case for why all students need executive function strategies.
