How ADHD Became My Strength

Besides being appointed Chief of Staff to Mayor Marty Walsh, City of Boston, in January, 2014, Daniel Koh has earned two degrees from Harvard and served as an intern to Senator Ted Kennedy. What’s more, Daniel has ADHD. Growing up with ADHD was a challenge for Daniel, as it is for many students, but he was able to turn it into an asset as he worked his way through college and into politics.

You can hear more of Daniel’s story on how the challenges of ADHD helped to shape his life both academically and professionally at ResearchILD’s Pathways to Success Gala on November 17. This is a “must attend” for students, parents, teachers, and others who will gain greater insight into the essential role that mentors play in the support of struggling learners.

Daniel won’t be the only one sharing stories of perseverance and persistence. A panel of students who have participated in ResearchILD’s SMARTS Executive Function and Mentoring Program will talk about how they have transformed their lives through mentoring and executive function strategy use.
